Set of 4 Japanese Stoneware Chawanmushi Cups*

This is a set of 4 Japanese Stoneware Chawanmushi Cups. Also known as egg custard cups or they are used for tea. These are vintage and have a unique flare to them. On the lids of these cups you can see a dark green fish outline and a light green fish outline. When you look at the handles that are attached to the cups you can see where they are attached by a delicate clay "nail". These are partially glazed on the handles, interior of the cups and on the lid. There are some age appropriate blemishes. These have minimal crazing on each cup. On the lid of one you can see the indented area where the clay was formed. There are pictures included. The cup is 2 inches tall and the lids are also 2 inches tall. Put together they are 4 inches tall and they are 6 inches long.

I am not too sure if these are safe for food or if for decoration. If you decide that you would like to use this for food then I recommend that you wash these carefully by hand and do not put them in the microwave, dishwasher or use the stove.

These are being sold as a set and will not be separated.
