This is a Toby Jug, made by Dalton & CO limited in England. The design is an old man with a hat and a fox for the handle. It is written on the back of the mug “Gone Away”. When you look under the mug it says:

No visible cracks, but the slight crazing on the bottom comes with age and not from mistreatment.
